All minor children will require written permission to be on file before being allowed to use needles, pins, seam ripper, scissors, iron and sewing machine in classes. Please print out the form and bring it to first class.
Sewing Class Schedule
Saturdays Sewing Lessons
9am to 10am ages 8 and 9
10am to 11am ages 6 and 7
11am to 12:30pm ages 12 and 13
12:30pm to 1:30pm ages 10 and 11
1:30pm to 2:30pm mixed age class
Sundays Sewing Lessons
9am to 10am ages 7 to 13 mixed age class
10am to 11am ages 7 to 13 mixed age class
11am to 12pm ages 7 to 13 mixed age class
Monthly lesson fee is $50.00 per month - payable the first of each month.- includes 4 one hour lessons.
Payments are expected on or before the first class of the month. Payment can be made in the form of cash, email money transfer or checks only.
Sewing Machines will be provided
All tools needed for cutting, pinning and sewing are supplied
What students should bring?
Students are expected to purchase fabric and notions for each project. (A list of supplies needed will be given as needed) If they forget we do have a small supply of fabric and notions, but we are not a fabric store and it is SEW much fun for kids to shop for their own fabric. The fabric at the school is all sold for $8 per meter. If your child needs fabric and doesn't have the money to pay for it, we will provide the fabric they need and bill it to you with the tuition for the next month. All fabric charges are due and payable with the next month's tuition. NOTE: Please do not buy plaids or stripes for their projects.
Classes are ON THE HOUR. Please be prompt when dropping off your child, not too early and not too late!! With classes coming and going - we need to be prompt for everyone. Drop off time for a class may not be any earlier than 5 minutes before the scheduled class beginning times. There is no waiting area, and dropping off a student earlier than this will be disruptive to on-going classes, or any preparatory work we may be doing for the class.
Attendance is very important, so please call or email and let us know you will not be attending so that the class can proceed without you. Out of respect for other students, please do not attend the class if you are sick.
Make Up Classes
I will try to accommodate make ups - but as the schedule fills - this will become difficult. No refunds or discounts will be given for missed classes, but each child will be offered up to four make-ups per year. Missed classes will be made up by appointment only. Never drop off your child outside their weekly class time without prior approval! 24 hour notice is appreciated if you are going to miss your scheduled class. Please make every effort to attend your scheduled class.
